Mayport Elementary School Reviews

I went to this school. The teachers are great and I learned a lot.The principal wasnt so great. I know that there are a lot of bad reviews about her but shes retiring. She was to concerned about the childrens safety cause she didnt like the location. Thats why the fence is there. I would recommend this school for any one that wanted to be able to work at their own pace and have great teachers. The people in the clinic and front desk are great to.

The principal at this school is by far the worst one I have to deal with. The school as a whole doesn't really care for the children's education, if you have the opportunity to have your kids go else where by all means jump on it

I have 3 boys going to this school. I was worried at first because I heard bad things. My boys having been going here for two years now. They make straight A's. Teachers are great and love the principle. They care alot about their students and what happens to them. Great School. I will recommend anyone.

I absolutely love this school! I became a volunteer with the school the year before (2006) my daughter started kindergarten here. All of the staff were receptive and apprectiative of me volunteering, which in my opinion says a lot about the openness and foundation of the school. Since my daughter has started kindergarten this year her teacher has been wonderful, helping her and guiding her along the way so that she would be fully prepared for 1st grade. I highly recommend this school!

I have had the pleasure of being part of the Mayport Elementary parent community for 9 years with my 3 children. As a Navy mom I am sorry that more military families have not taken advantage of this school and because of this we have lost a lot of great teachers due to low enrollment.

Not a very great school. The principal was not a very big help when it came to my concerns with my child's education. I don't recommend this school.

My oldest son went to Mayport Elementary from PRK-5th and we loved the care they took in teaching him. My youngest has been in Mayport Elementary for Kindergarden, 3rd and 4th and has had great teachers and has enjoyed every minute of his time there. The teachers and staff care very much for the students and their education! We love Mayport Elementary! I would give the school a 10!

My son had Mrs. Cox for kindergarten and Mrs. Kauffman for 1st grade and they are the best teachers at the school! Not much adult supervision with kids in the halls using the bathroom, getting a drink from the water fountain, running errands for the teachers. From a 1 to 5 scale I give them a 3. Again, not a bad school just not the school I want my son going to.

Mayport is a wonderful school full of great teachers. My oldest has gone through and now my other children are here. The whole school is very supportive and will do everything they can to help your child succeed!

This school is convenient for the location but not a good selection for your child's academic success!

My children were at a school on the westside. Last year we moved to Mayport. And I love this school. The teachers and staff are great. I am happy they will have an active PTA this year. I just wish there was move extracurricular activities. But other than that we love this school. Keep up the great work

Mayport has excellent, caring teachers but is located in a rough area and has very limited parental involvement. The previous principal was a strict disciplinarian who ran a tight ship that focused on student safety and achievement.

Being new to the public school system I am surprised by the high quality of this school as well as the caring and individualized approach of both the teacher and guidance counselors I have come into contact with. I have been able to have regular contact with his teacher with minimal effort. I have been given guidance on how to help him in his individual difficulties in adjusting to a new town, school, and academic style and all this was done with tact and diplomacy. Excellent overall.

I have been so happy to have my children attend Mayport Elementary. From the principal down to the lunchroom ladies you will find the most helpful people.

The teacher I had the pleasure to meet was wonderful with the kids and really cared. The way she taught was easy for them to comprehand and remember!
